Players Code of Behaviour

  • Play for enjoyment
  • Strive for personal excellence
  • Work hard for your team as well as yourself
  • Treat all team mates and opponents as you enjoy being treated yourself
  • Play by the spirit and letter of the rules
  • Cooperate with team and game officials
  • Stay in the designated team area and support other team members during times when you are not competing
  • Check-in and check-out with team management/officials upon arrival/departure each day
  • Practice self-control on and off the field
  • Wear the official team uniform at all times, as directed by team management/officials
  • Appreciate honest effort, skilled performance and improvement
  • Work equally hard for yourself and your team
  • Be reliable in regards to meeting time commitments and training sessions
  • Never argue with an official. If you disagree approach your captain, coach or manager
  • Do not deliberately distract or provoke other players, officials and spectators
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, clutural background or religion

Parent and Spectator Code of Behaviour

  • Cooperate with your school to achieve the best outcomes for your child
  • Individuals are not to enter areas that have been cordoned/fenced off as out of bounds
  • Act in a way consistent with the fact that students participate in sport for their enjoyment, not yours
  • Support team and event officials in maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment for all students
  • Maintain positive relationships with team officials regarding your child’s learning, wellbeing and behaviour
  • Encourage participation
  • Provide a model of good sportsmanship for your child
  • Be courteous and constructive in your communication with players, team officials, game officials and administrators
  • Encouraage honest effort, skilled performance and team loyalty
  • Focus on efforts and performance rather than winning or losing
  • Use postive reinforcement for positive effort rather than raising your voice at a student for making a mistake
  • Show appreciation of volunteer coaches, officials and administrators. Without them ther would be no competition
  • Do not interfere with the conduct of any events
  • Adhere to the expectations of venues being smoke and alcohol free environments
  • Do not encroach on playing areas or within 2 metres of sport field boundaries. This includes the concourse areas of pools
  • Dogs and other animals are not to be brought to sport venues

Breach of the Code

A breach of this code of behaviour by parents/spectators may result in them being banned from the venue. A breach of this code by a student may result in the player being banned from the event and/or the venue. Parents and the student’s school will be notified. Any additional expense incurred will be the responsibility of the parents.
